Yong, a bright young man studying in Australia, had a childhood accident that left a lasting impact on his smile. As a little boy playing with his neighborhood friends, a playful moment turned into an unexpected mishap when a stone was accidentally thrown, hitting Yong’s front tooth. The tooth broke, and Yong had to undergo a root canal treatment to save it—a big ordeal for a young boy, but he handled it like a champ.

With the information in hand, Dr Gwen quickly form a team comprising herself; Dr Lee, an endodontist who is the specialist to handle the reinfection coming from Root Canal; and Joseph, the ceramist who is expert in making a single unit crown (which is known to be the most challenging thing for crowning). The team discussed and made sure that a quality dental treatment can be delivered on a timely basis as his vacation is short.
After completing the basic cleaning and necessary investigation for information gathering, following treatments were carried out:
- Root Canal Retreatment: Our skilled endodontist carefully retreated the infected tooth, making sure every bit of the infection was gone.
- Precision Filling: Next, the dentist reinforced the tooth with a strong, precise filling to give it stability.
- A Crown as Unique as Yong: The trickiest part? Matching the crown to Yong’s natural tooth color. Yong’s teeth had unique fluorosis stains, which made it a challenge to get the perfect shade. But our talented ceramist went above and beyond—he even postponed his trip back to his hometown, dedicating an entire day to complete Yong’s crown. The ceramist came specially to the clinic to ensure the shade selection was flawless and the crown perfectly mimicked the neighboring tooth. My heartfelt gratitude goes out to him for his incredible commitment and craftsmanship.

This journey wouldn’t have been possible without the support of Yong’s cousin, who is also one of our cherished patients.
